I sometimes feel all alone

Hi,
I am new to posting online...so hear it goes.
As of yesterday I have taken a mild nervous breakdown due the stress of my job. I joined LA weight Loss a month ago and have lost 10.2 lbs. I am going to be staying at home for the next couple of weeks to get my head together and I am scared that I will go back to my old eating habits because of the stress. Any suggestions?

i love to stay at home but that has its dangers... i just make sure that there is nothing at home to tempt me.

Welcome (to both of you)! I would take time to go through my house and get rid of junk food. No need to make it harder on yourself by having that stuff in the house. Also, stick around here for support. I'm pretty sure there is an active LA Weight Loss forum here.

You aren't alone!!! Look at how many people are on this forum!! We are all here because we all understand what it feels like to be overweight. Also because we want to receive and give support to each other. So, you have come to the right place!

My personal weight gain began about 6 years ago. I have been on EVERY diet known to woman. And when I recently gained weight on one of those diets...I came here out of desperation in hopes that it would provide me with the motivation to start over again. And also to see if somebody elses methods would be helpful.

I joined a week ago. First I was inspired...but still not motivated. I was still so disappointed and I was reading and eating at the same time. When I fall off the wagon...it's usually pretty hard!!

But then...I went to the calorie counting forum...which led me to some great websites! I'm especially liking thedailyplate.com. (There is also fitday.com and a few others). For me, this was exactly what I needed to get back on track. Being able to see my progress right in front of me and knowing exactly where i need to pull in the reigns is very motivating for me. In fact, so much so that I'm back ON the wagon just one day after checking out the website!

In any case...YOU CAN DO THIS, GIRL!!! I don't know what kind of job you have, but maybe it's time to consider a different one. Maybe your eating will actually IMPROVE without that stress!! Just a thought...

WELCOME AND GOOD LUCK!!!

Anais

ps DEFINITELY THROW OUT ALL JUNK IN THE HOUSE!! Also, as a flight attendant...when I'm home...I don't work...so that means I'm home all day. I have found that if I work out early...it sets the tone for the day and I'm much more likely to stay the course!

Maybe you could set up some projects to complete? Sometimes, cleaning out drawers and refolding closets can lead you to feel better and it keeps you busy and away from the fridge!

Hi I know how you feel and you are going to be ok.
Things that worked for me after a full breakdown was going to a support group face to face, where I could listen and share only if I wanted to.
I found I needed structure to my day, a little walk, keeping a journal and
talking to at least one person a day helped a lot. That was just getting sober
LOL. In need those same deals today as I face my obese issues.
One day at a time it gets better. Stay in touch, ppsgal

Thank God, Allah, Bhudda etc for the internet!!! You are not alone in this journey. Ten pounds is amazing and I wish my scale would budge.

When I stay home and do not go out for a week, I just keep the junk out of the house and read lots and lots of books. I can't read and eat at the same time lol.

Healthy snacks would be my opinion. If you have fruit and veggies in the house to munch on that can satisfy you. Also, you can use workout videos at home too. Hope that helps. WELCOME TO 3FC!
