Howdy

I guess I better post something here...I just discovered this site last week and I love it. It has motivated me to get back into some shape. Anyways I've been struggling with my weight for the past 5 years. It's been an up and down battle. It all started when I was about 15 and the women I considered my mother (my grandma who raised me) passed away after a long battle of cancer. Just days before she died, I was the only person she still remembered, her cancer developed on her spine which started messing with her mind. I went to food for comfort. Soon enough I had gained about 50 pounds. I had gotten up to 200 pounds. I had got stretch marks all over my stomach, back of my arms, thighs. It was bad. I had to start seeing a psychiatrist because I started taking large quantities of pills trying to kill myself. It wasn't till I was 16 that I realized what I had done to myself. I looked like a different person. So I decided to do something about it. I joined La Weight Loss, and while I cheated like crazy, I managed to lose about 30 pounds. Then tragedy struck again 2 weeks before I turned 17. My dad, who also raised me, died unexpectedly. I fell of the diet, and gained 10 pounds back. Finally when I was 18 I got back onto a diet and slowly but surely I lost that 10 pounds plus another 10. So I was about 160 by the time I turned 19. I don't know what happened between 19 and 20, but I managed to gain 20 pounds over the past year. I just want to get down to what I once was. 150 pounds. Because of my up and down weight gain, my breasts sag, my upper arms are developing into wings, and my lower tummy looks like that of a woman who has had a kid. Eventually I would like to get a breast lift and mini tummy tuck.

Thats my story... oh btw I'm Sara.

Hi, Sara,

I am a newbie too and have found everyone to be very friendly.

Sounds like your path has been pretty tough. :grouphug:

You deserve a lot of credit for getting back on track for your health.

Good luck with your plans. You can do whatever you want...just keep believing!
