Default Hello...... long time lurker, first time poster...

Hi everyone! I have been reading the forums for a while and decided to jump in and join!

I am 31 years old, wife to J and mama to a beautiful 3 year old girl. I am a Christian, vegetarian, musician, artist, and I love long walks on the beach (sounds like a singles ad)

Anywayyyyy.... I am ready to change my life. For good.

No fads, no starvation, no pills, no obsessing, no self deprecation, no deprivation,... this is for my life. For myself, for my God, for my hubby, for my child, and for all the years I want to live healthy.

I am doing a low Glycemic index plan -- moderate (good) fats, moderate to high protein, low-ish carbs (not atkins low, but much lower than the average person) , no sugar except fructose (in fruit obviously)-- (I suspect PCOS) I have already lost 4 lbs and I have not felt deprived or hungry yay

I like to take a natural approach to things -- whole foods, herbs, supplements etc. I take a strong multi vitamin, DIM for hormone balance, flax oil, and drink red raspberry leaf tea for women's health (for example).

Oh, and exercise which I am trying not to hate ... that is the best I can do for now... at least I am doing it LOL

I am happy to have this place and plan on contributing lots more

Welcome to you! I am an newbie too! Good luck to us both!

I don't like exercise either but I just found a good walking routine that I am going to try. You can find it in the August 08 edition of Family Circle or on the familycircle.com website. I am going to try it for 2 weeks and see how I do. I will let you know. If you try it...let me know how it works for you!

Allowingslender...just so you know there is also a faith based group. Look under Support Group forums and it is a sub class under that group.

to 3 Fat Chicks

You will find a lot of support here on the forums as I have over the past 2 years.
You have a great approach to the whole weight loss process. It is a lifestyle change, not a diet, if you want to lose it and keep it off.
If you're in any way like me, you will grow to love exercising(what becomes a habit is no longer a hassle). I wish you the best and may God bless you.
