Newbie allround

  • Hey Guys,

    I am just starting a diet. I am 32 and was tiny as a kid and teenager but slowly the weight is building up and it is just sticking to me. I don't have a huge amount to lose, I am going to aim for 25 lbs, but I know that I need some accountability.

    3FC seems so darn supportive. I am hoping that I can hang out here whenever the I-want-candy urge hits!

    Isn't it funny how being a mom you have to hold your kids accountable for their actions- be in charge of the house and still somewhat lose yourself? You're what makes it go- you're the lead car, not the caboose

    I was watching You on a Diet on Discovery Health with Dr. Oz... and he made the most VALID and IMPORTANT point... he said something to the effect of..
    When you're driving in your car and you miss your turn.. you don't just keep going.. criticizing yourself.. you stop, regroup and head back to your destination without the self hate...so why do we do that to ourselves with food and weightloss? Remember that when your hormones are raging and you reach for a chocolate bar lol

    Another thing I do when I'm having one of those 'urges' is to say... What is good for me, not what is easy..... lol I have had to repeat it a few times but you'll feel better about yourself if you make it a habit to do what is good for your body...
