Hello from far off Australia

  • Hi everyone,

I'm so glad I found this site! I've been browsing through the recent posts & everyone seems so helpful & supportive of each other's efforts- exactly what I need right now.

I've been steadily gathering weight ever since having my 3 children; the youngest of which is now 14, so the 'but you have kids' excuse for being overweight is wearing a tad thin!

I've managed to lose some weight by myself, but the will to keep going is weak, so I figure having an online presence here could help keep me in line a bit more than just moseying along in isolation.

A bit about me for anyone who's interested, I'm happily married, queer, have three teenage children, live in country Victoria, Australia where we're (slowly)renovating our old house & two roomed school building, love books, music & films, hate most TV shows, make art & corsets, collect (& wear) 1950's cateye glasses & unusual clothes...& need to lose about another 24kgs (that's 53lbs)
  • Welcome! We're glad you're here.

Make yourself at home and read lots. Post so that we can get to know you better. And remember that if you need anything, just ask!
  • Welcome from not-so-far-off Thailand! I'm sure you'll find this place very helpful - I know it's been a great resource for information, tools and support for me so far!
  • Hi this is a great site to keep u motivated and on track. I used this site before and I did much better with the sites support that going it alone. I have 3 teen age kids, a mother I am taking care of now and on top of that my job just went to 12 hour shifts, in the mist of all this madness I have gained back the 35lbs plus a few more, so I back posting, supporting and keeping motivated.

I know you can do it, its not always going to be easy, but with the support of everyone it will be a little less stressful.
  • Hi from not so far off New Zealand. And welcome to the site. I am one of those lurkers that come and go every time I get side tracked from my program. I have about 20kgs to lose.(Trying) To Do weight watchers by myself. Started at 93kg went down to 79 and now about 83, A rough guess because I have not been near a scale for some time. What sort of program are you doing? I would love to team up with some one a little closer to home.
