I'm a newbie, but I've got staying power!

Hello everyone. My name is Kristine, and I am brand new to this forum. Be kind as I learn the nuances and etiquette (though I don't think it will be too hard... *smile*).

I am from Montana - woo hoo - and have lived here my entire life. I am 22 years old and I have always felt like there is something more that I should be doing (traveling, learning, just BEING). I am the second child born to my parents, having one older and one younger sister. I love my family, but I often wish they were more supportive of me and my interest in losing weight. I lost my mom almost five years ago to a heart attack, and I let myself think that it was something that was never going to happen to me. I am what doctors term morbidly obese and I have high blood pressure along with other, non-weight related health issues.

I have tried Weight Watchers and found that the program was a good one to follow, and I will definitely take some of the mind-set with me into my goals and my future after weight loss - maintenance is going to be extremely important to me. I have also tried NutriSystem... Blech... I hated the foods and I hated not being able to cook for myself. Where I stand now, I have the option of having bypass surgery or continuing on until I, too, die of a heart attack. So, I am going to try MediFast with the supervision of a doctor and the support of my family and friends. I think that 3FC is going to be a great way to get some extra support in there, too.

If any of you have suggestions for me, please don't hesitate to e-mail me (let me know if you need it) because I think that in order for me to be in this for the long haul, I have to know that I have support and that I am not alone.

Thank you in advance!

Kristine :D
