New And Determined!

Greetings everyone!
I'm new to the 3FC community, and pretty excited about how supportive everyone is :). I've been looking for a community that is respectful of one another, mature and generally wants to help, and I believe I've finally found what I have been looking for!

My names Matt and I'm a 21 year old male, (just turned may 29th), I'm 6'3' and weigh about 285-300 pounds.
I've been a gamer my entire life and have had very bad eating and drinking habits. I pretty much eat anything I can get my hands on (much like a toddler ;P) and drink soda's constantly! I also have a really hard time getting out... I tend to be anti-social and can lock myself away in my room and literally not leave my room/house for days or weeks... My family often come and check on me to see if I'm still alive -_-

I want to lose weight, get a job, and make friends... And give it my all to become more social. I do desire to have children and at the rate I'm going it just does not look like its gonna happen... Above all of that however I want to be healthy... My mother has diabetes and we both worry because I drink so much soda that I'll also become diabetic some day in the future...

I have however made steps to change my life around and would love support
and guidance from anyone who's willing to give it :)

Thank you for your time and it is very nice to meet you all :)!

Hi . . . :wel3fc: . . . glad you found us.

I'm a type II diabetic and suggest that the first thing you need to do is get rid of the soda habit -- at least switch to a diet version -- secondly, as an interim step toward getting more active; take a look at the newer interactive and relatively health-oriented modules now available for most of the popular gaming platforms. I have Wii and just  Wii Fit and Wii Sports and definitely want to get Dance Dance Revolution.

Good Luck on your journey . . .

Thank you very much :) yeah I definitely would like to get some more active games such as those, I've been looking into getting a dance dance game for a while now. :)

I have a quick question for anyone who knows... Is there a site or a guide someplace that could tell me about what I should weigh at 6'3' and keep in mind I've got a fairly strong build without even working out... I was just born big I guess you could say... Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

It really depends on your body type. My ex was 6'4" and at his high school prime was about 250. When I married him, he was 6'5", 270 lbs and in great form. But, he was built like a linebacker. Some other guys close to his height only weighed 190 and were pushing the weight barrier.

Maybe you should see a trainer or a Dr. to get a handle on it. That way you'll have a reasonable goal to attain.

Good luck and keep coming back. You can find the support you need here.
