New & Needing Help

Hi all!!
This looks like a great forum.

I'm in desperate need to lose weight. I feel awful, I look awful, and I never want to go anywhere because I don't want to be "seen" looking like this.

I'm 5'7" and weigh 215 lbs. I've been overweight for the past 10 years and it's really affecting my life, attitude and well - just pretty much everything.

Everyday, I wake up, I tell myself that "today is the day" and I start out good and then it all goes down hill from there. By the end of the day I could care less what I eat.

After my DH and kids are in bed I really tend to "pig out".

Anyway, I need some help. I've done Weight Watchers in the past with success, so I guess I should get myself in gear and do it again. The first few days are always so hard tho. I guess I want "instant gratification". I know, excuses, excuses...

I'm not someone who normally asks for help. (actually I hate to ask for help)... but can someone offer me some help, insight, accountability - something?? please??

We can offer a lot here... mostly though, we can offer you the best of our support

You can do this. I've been on WW for just over a year now. I've found it to be a very workable program. There's even a WW area (under "Diet Central") that you should check out!

Maybe "Today" is too much time. Maybe it should just be "This meal is the meal that I will eat healthfully." And say that for each meal. "This moment is the moment." And that way, if a slip-up happens you can start immediately at the next moment, instead of waiting a whole day.

Also, find something to do in the evenings other than eat. Food is not a boredom fighter. Go to bed when they go to bed, or pick up a hobby that you can be really involved in.

You. Can. Do. This. Just keep going forward.

Best of success!

Thanks for your help. The idea of "this meal" and "this moment" are things I hadn't heard or thought of before.

I really appreciate you taking your time to post to my thread. I'll definitely check out the WW section.
