Hey everyone~ and a few questions

I'm 18 years old, female from canada and im currently 63 kg trying to get down to 57 as my first goal weight (ive already los tabout 2 kg). My height is 162 cm. The freshmen 15 is NOT a myth unfortunatly! anyone here want to exchange msn emails and buddy up for weight loss support?
anyways i also have a couple questions:
how would i know what weight is currect for me? im of asian descent, so the standards of thinness in my culture are different-my weight right now would be considered overweight even though im in the healthy catergory for my bmi! and in Asia, i would have to buy L or XL clothing! Also, ive heard that asians over 23 bmi are considered overweight-because of their smaller frames....mine isnt big but i know is isnt the smallest compared to my some of my friends...

Hi JOODI . . . :wel3fc: from a fellow Canuk. Glad you found us and you will find lots of support and encouragement everywhere you wander around this great big site.

There is a forum called "Twenty-somethings" and I'm sure you would fit right into the group because there are a lot of college students over there. BTW, to really fit in around this mostly US place, I do suggest you start translating your kilo's to pounds (2.2 lbs = 1 kilo) and your cm's to inches (1 inch = 2.5 cm); or most of the people you bump into won't know what you are talking about.

As far as your weight is concerned, perhaps you would be okay thinking of 100 pounds for the first 5 feet plus 5 pounds for every inch over that. So for your height of a little over 5'4", a goal weight of 120 pounds (around 54 to 55 Kilos) would probably work out pretty well for you. After you get there, you can always re-assess where you want to be based on how you feel and look.

Howdy, fellow canuck from Whistler here...

This place is amazing for support, and yes the freshman 15 are brutal. Feel your pain there, I gain it everytime I have a knee surgery, I've had 8.
