Newbie!

Hi all, I've been lurking around and decided I should introduce myself. I'm a 31 yr old mama of 2 boys, Kyle (5) and Kevin (3). I've been struggling with my weight since my husband and I started dating. When I met him I was 125 lbs. By the time we married 4 1/2 yrs later I was a whopping 150. Now I'm struggling at 190. About a year and a half ago I did a strict diet where I lost 30 lbs. I've gained 16lbs back. I've been on and off a gazillion diets and always seem to gain the weight back as soon as I get bored or frustrated with the diet. I've tried working out and instead I gain weight. I'm incredibly frustrated.

I now started herbalife only b/c my 1 and only co-worker was starting it and I thought it would work better if we both helped each other out. This has me even more frustrated than ever. The first week I lost 3lbs. I cheated over the weekend and gained 6. I lost 7lbs the 2nd week. I cheated that weekend and gained 4. The worst part is that I didn't even cheat bad, it's not like I stuffed my face with pizza and ice cream (although I did last night from frustration). :?:

I would love to hear from you ladies, hear what your doing and what's working and what's not. I really need the help.

THANKS and look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome Pookie,
I started out with a trip to my family physician. From there I built my support team and then started a low cal/fat diet with an emphasis on whole foods. I have also started an exercise routine 3 times a week. As I become more fit I will expand the number of days and intensity of my workout.
Hang in there and keep asking questions. Eventually you'll find what works for you.

:welcome: PM...I'm currently on Weight Watchers and have been for the last 5 weeks. It's working for me, I've taken my weight of steadily at an average of 2 lbs. a week. I work out at least 4 times/week, and have noticed the difference in just doing simple things.

I've also done Atkins with great success. However, I couldn't deny the fact that I wouldn't be able to maintain it for life, and that's what his is about. Atkins has worked well and continues to work well for many of my friends. They have embraced the way of life and haven't looked back. I agree with Chay...it's about finding out what works best for you.

I like WW because I don't have to choose between ice cream or healthy food. I have have them both, but the ice cream and treats in moderation. Keep seeking information..I wish you the best of luck!
