Aye mami! I've gotten myself into a mess!

:dust:

I'm new obviously. I've peeked in a few times but never committed myself to joining in. So, I might as well start with my story! I'll keep it short. ;)

I'm 22 years old and way overweight. My doctor wants me to get blood work because she suspects hypothyroidism but I know that isn't nearly the whole problem (if it is, in fact, a problem at all. We'll see!) I haven't had the peachiest life and I am definitely an emotional eater. I'm trying to channel my emotions in more constructive directions. :beach: I'm trying to battle my personal demons. I think that is the biggest thing to overcome for me. I've lost 15-20 pounds so far. A good start to my long term goal. :) Which is... soo faar awaay! Lol. One. Day. At. A. Time.

:sunny: Also, I would be totally open to a buddy! Feel free to message me. Especially if you're in a similar spot!

Also, hi everyone!

Hi there, and welcome!

I'm new here too, and I think this is my first welcome post :)

Congratulations on the pounds lost already! What a great start!!!

Where do you live in NM? We visit Santa Fe every year and love it!

SoyLaBelleza 04-16-2008 12:35 AM

Oh my... I live nowhere near the better parts of the state! I live in the Southeast corner and esh... It's dry. It's flat. High crime, dirty area. Not a fun place to be! Which is why I'm moving! :) As soon as I can decide where to go for now. So many options and only one of me...

And welcome to you too! And gracias!

Hiya SoyLaBelleza!

:wel3fc:

It can seem like such a long way, but you've got the right idea. One day at a time. One pound at a time. One step at a time. :) We just gotta keep moving forward. You've got a great start!

You might enjoy the 100lb club, the 300+ & the 20-somethings. All great, friendly areas :sunny:

We're all buddies here just helping eachother along, so dive on in & post wherever you're comfortable!

Best of success!!

Hi there . . . you've made a great start . . . and we are all here to help you continue moving in the great downward direction, Chickie.

Faerie is sooooo right . . . we all have to do this one pound at a time. Stop thinking about that long term goal; just think in smaller increments and enjoy every success as it happens.

We'd all like to be at our final goal by tomorrow, but it's not going to happen -- always remember that it was the tortoise that finally won the race.

Muchas gracias everyone for making me feel so welcome! I am taking it one day at a time. :) Or, rather moment to moment. One day seems like a lot sometimes!
