Leaps of Faith

  • Hi There.

I found this site liked by someone on lapbandtalk.com and wandered over here.

Let me introduce myself. I'm 40, an empty-nester, admin. assistant, volunteer fire fighter and first responder and at 266.5 (as of today!) I'm morbidly obese, diabetic and have sleep apnea among other things.

It has been a year in the making, yes, I said a year. I waited a whole year, reading, talking to people, reading, and more talking before finally making the decision to have WLS and do the lap band.

I had my first consultation today. Within 3 weeks I should have an answer from the insurance company.

This was not an easy decision to make, but I've tried everything - and I do mean everything, including trying to be bulemic (I can't stand throwing up - that did not last long!) and starving myself.

So, there you have it. It was a huge leap of faith for me to talk to someone about going under the knife again, and I know this isn't the cure-all, but it's a start.
