Time to intro
 

Hi everyone! I've been reading 3FC a while but only registered today because I decided it was time to really be part of the community instead of a shadow-bystander.

I'm a 28 (almost 29!) year old fat chick from New Zealand. I arrived at the site one day when looking for recipes and found the forum to be inspirational. At the moment I'm 5'3" and weigh 98.3kg (around 217 pounds) which is down from my maximum weight where I was over 130kg (287 pounds). My day of reckoning came when I got on the scales and the needle went all the way around, past the 130 and back into the tens. I went omg time to do something.

So I joined the gym, I started to lose and now at 98.3kg I weigh the same weight as I did when I was 19 which is a pretty amazing feeling. For the first time ever I can actually see myself getting down to a healthy weight (even as a kid I was over weight).

A bit about me not to do with the weight obsession... well I teach university level biology which I love. I am one of those people who is blessed to have a job they truly enjoy. I got married at the end of last year to a wonderful and supportive husband. And despite our label as newly-weds we've actually been together 11.5 years. We are wanting to have kids so I have the desire to lose weight before we try, and we want to travel and again the weight loss thing is a ditto.

Guess that is it from me, I look forward to getting to know everyone through the boards :)

Wow! You've done a fantastic job losing over 30kg :D I hope that you post wherever you're comfortable & that you find the support you need.
