Hi, I'm Tricia, I'm 49. I'm type 2 diabetic on insulin. Today I weigh 223, I would like to lose 60+ pounds. It's been a lifelong battle, the cute fat girl.. etc.

If one more doctor tells me "you need to diet and exercise" or if I see another "breaking news" story that tells me to get 30 mins of exercise and eat fruits and veggies, I am going to scream

, do they think we don't know this ?? yikes... OK I feel better now... I am ready to get going and do this.. to change, just for me.... see you in the forums...

Hiya Tricia!!!

You'll find that we're an entire support buddy system here. We're all looking out for eachother, kicking butt when we need to, consoling when we need to as well.

Have a look around! There's a great 40-somethings & 50+ area that has people of all kinds losing weight. There are also areas for programs that people are following under Diet Central. But, even Calorie Counting is a program even though it's often very individual. There's a Dieting with Obstacles forum where you'd be able to chat with others who are Diabetic. But, you should post wherever you're comfortable.

I live with 3 avid fans!! And have one son who is deployed and celebrated both victories while overseas!

I am 51, a nurse, a Type 2 diabetic well-controlled on oral agents. Wonderful A1c. Cholesterol also well controlled on meds. As a nurse, of course I know what I'm "supposed" to do...doctor would talk to me at my physical and regular visits every year! I finally got ready to do it for myself in September...

I am now motivated, journaling, counting points for weight watchers, drinking alot of water, walking as often as I can...and have lost 30 pounds...You can do this...for yourself and your health. I'll be right here along with you! GO RED SOX!

It was great to read your post. I was starting to think it was all Yankees fans out there... LOL
I appreciate the support, I'm so glad I found this site... I'm ready and did well today. BS under 150 all day. I've got clothes set to go to gym tomorrow.
