Hi! I am new to the forums...I found it by accident when looking for plus sized ski pants...I haven't found the pants but...I think this might be better...

I dont think I have ever taken weight loss seriously. I would work out 3-4 times a week but never feel like I was making a dent. Maybe it was my old office environment where I would get catered food twice a week, gorge on the office candy, eat eat eat...I am trying my hand for the first time at reaching out for support...

I will be married now for a year in April...and while my husband supports my desire to lose weight...its hard for him to understand my giant mental battles with it. Going to him sometimes brings me back into the food/shame spiral...

I get great fitness benefits from my current job. I am now in an environment that is very concientious of health and quality of life. Its refreshing to have that support around.

As far as personal habits...well...I prescribe to the pesco-vegetarian lifestyle, eating little to no fish, no red meat, chicken, pork etc...it makes it a challenge sometimes, but its not something I am willing to give up.

Currently I tip the scales at around 275, I am 6' tall...that helps a little with body proportions...but man...my *** is huge :D

I don't know if i have expectations or what I am seeking...maybe I just need to talk. Anyway. Thanks for listening :)

Hiya & :wel3fc:

Wonderful to see that you exercise often. Do you count calories or watch your food intake in some way? Usually exercise alone is not enough for many of us to drop the extra pounds.

There's a Vegetarians area. There are also support groups based on age, or how much we have to lose. Please have a look around & post wherever you're comfortable.

Best of success!!!

thanks for the welcome :D

I *don't* count calories, nor do I even know where to begin. I feel like I have a giant mental block and I go insta-stupid when I am faced with things like "healthy" eating...

I maintain pretty good portion control, but its the cravings and hole filling I need to work on. I am trying to fill my personal life with rewarding and exciting things, but I guess that isn't going to take the place of a nice hunk of chocolate cake ;)

If you're interested in finding some sort of program that might fit into your life, try the Diet Central area. There's a list of many (but not all of the) programs that 3FC members follow. :)

Hey Morgana - :wel3fc:

Yes, please head over to the Vegetarian Chicks! They have great discussions of losing weight while veggie...and you definitely DON'T have to give it up!

I agree with Faerie that, often, exercising isn't enough to lose weight...some kind of food monitoring is required. Do you have any of that in place? If so, we likely have a forum for it here, so do look around.

Settle in and keep posting...I can't wait to hear more from you soon!
