Hello from WNY!!

Hello to everyone.

I am in the Buffalo area of NY, and have lived here all of my life.

I am married with 4 kids (4.6.9.11). I enjoy crocheting very much, and stay at home with my DD4. In the fall, I am returning to school when she does and would much rather do so not looking quite SO fluffy!

I am 5'0 and 148 pounds (my scale actually is low, but it's consistent - I'm really closer to 153). I would like to get under 130, or about 30 pounds.

I enjoy working out, but generally procrastinate nearly everything in my life, so I often need motivation.

I'm looking for some friends here who can be funny and tough and be on my side. Everyone else I know works, so I don't have any support during the day.

Thanks for listening!

Hiya FluffyK, and :wel3fc:

I wish I had the dexterity to crochet. I keep trying, but have settled into my knitting loom for the most part, which is basic but lets me make the basics if I want to. I always wanted to learn crochet, though.

Motivation - it has to come from you. The good thing is that we're great here for encouragement. You may want to head over to the Exercise Accountability thread - if you need a kick in the butt, you can post your goals there (we'll start a new one tomorrow for March) and then post your progress each day.

You'll find people here who are funny but can be tough if you need it...because we ALL need it sometimes.

Jump in, find a spot, and keep posting. We do have a "Short Chicks" group going in Miscellaneous Clubs, I know, but you can really post wherever.

What sort of eating plan are you following? Let us know and we can give you more direction...3FC is a big place.

Can't wait to get to know you better!

Thanks for the quick welcome. I've been browsing, and had decided to join the exercise accountability tomorrow morning!

I will be starting South Beach once I can make meal plans and get to the store. DH is always game to join me. In fact, he's been wanting to do it, but the meals and buying is mostly "on me". I have done SB before and really liked the nutrition aspect, plus it really did help me get rid of my cravings, as I like to binge eat.

I just found the Jaded Ladies and think that's a place where I can find a little daily humor and encouragement.

Fluffy, welcome! :welcome3:
I want to make one of those Babette blankets, but I don't know how to crochet! (have you seen the pattern? They are beautiful!)

I'm glad you're taking a good look around the forum... there's so much great support here.

Ellis, I know many people who have made the babette, but I have yet to make one. They are not very hard - I think they are mostly sc, so even a beginner could make one.. Go ahead, give it a try!

Thanks for the encouragement, Fluffy! I think I will! :)

Ellis - you can come over to www dot crochetville dot org and join us. There is a CAL for the Babette, so you would have a lot of company and people to ask questions of. You can find me over there, I'm Krystal16.

It's a great group there. Let me know if you go there - the format is the same as here, so you will be comfortable.
