So new, so blue

Hi everyone!
Well......it's not like a big surprise that I am overweight but went to the Dr last week for bronchitis and etched in huge letters under the diagnosis was OBESITY. Was shocking and embarrassing to see it put as an official diagnosis especially when I wasn't even in the office for weight issues.:(

Anyhow, here I am singing the blues and really want to lose some lbs-not just for vanity issues but for health. I just want to feel (and of course LOOK) better.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone here!:flow1:

Hey there Daisybug. I know how you feel. I figured out my BMI and was shocked to see that I fell into the 'obese' category. Who, ME??? No way. It pisses me off that I've gotten to this point. But my resolve kicked in (ok, my resolve kicked in again for the third time) and I'm off to the races. One day at a time if that's what it takes. Stick around, lots of good info here.

I knew I had a problem when I started having to wear control-top turtlenecks.

Hey Daisy! :wel3fc:

I remember something like that. I had to get a pelvic exam for some reproductive system problems, and ended up having to take my medical records to a specialist. I picked up the records and was reading through, and read "abdomen difficult to palpate secondary to obesity" - it was a huge eye-opener. Sure, I knew I was obese, but I never realized it would have such a huge effect, to the point where my doctor couldn't feel the things she needed to feel to accurately diagnose me.

Do you know what sort of plan you're going to follow? We have areas here for almost everything out there, so look around. If you're not sure, read a bit in different spots and I'm sure you'll find something that sounds like it will work for you.

Otherwise, settle in, get to posting, and get going. Stick around! This is a great place!

Hi Daisy and welcome from one newbie to another! I see we have a few things in common already. We're newbies, like PSP, struggle with weight issues, and got a shock from our doc's office.
