Newbies here!

Hiya, name's Tracy. Uhm, not too sure where to start...I guess from the beginning's always good, eh?

I've struggled with weight since I was in my early teens. My mother became concerned with my diet when I was 12 years old, and took efforts to help me with staying healthy and what not. Needless to say, the primary focus was on dieting. So, yeah, negative connoations with that word.

Ever since I was 12, I've steadily gained weight. I hit 270 pounds at one point, and I'm a pretty short person, so it was pretty bad. I've managed to lose about ten, but I'm having **** of a time getting more off, due to bad eating habits and not an active lifestyle, PLUS going to college AND being broke all at once. Ouch!

I've tried Weight Watchers, it wasn't really for me because I had issues with meeting as a group. (I'm deaf, so I don't do well with groups). I've tried the Atkins diet...wasn't really good for me, either. I've tried some fad diets (from my mother), and of course, it didn't work out. I"m currently on the L.A. Weight loss system, they have a center near my school. So, hopefully that'll work out since it's more 1-on-1 for me.

Other than that...uh, I'm not too sure what else to say. Are there any other deaf dieters out there that's a member of the forum?

new this week

HI

I am a newbie. I have been trying to lose weight and keep up with more intense exercise for many years. I can't seem to get beyond a month & then drop off.

So I hope to read how others push beyond their walls and get it done. I plan on being supportive and hope it rubs off on me.

Hey Tracy! :wel3fc:

Don't know if we have other deaf dieters on here, but we do have a great LAWL forum here...

LA Weight Loss

Post there, or wherever you like. Can't wait to get to know you better!

Thanks, Mandalina!!! I've already started posting there, somewhat. :D I was planning on posting there earlier, but it was nearly time for class and I had to shut down the laptop! =) I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with my endeavors this time around. =)

Tracy, welcome! :welcome3:
I think there may be a few other deaf posters. I believe NemesisClaws is one. You could try a search to see if there are any more.
We're glad to have you join us!

Trailgroomer, Redheadedmomma and Mariquita, welcome to you, too! :welcome:
