Newbie here!

  • Hi! My name is nicole and i am 27 years old. I found this community by googling for weight loss support messageboards geared towards women... WITHOUT a monthly fee! (The gym membership is enough for monthly fees!)

I have struggled with my weight since I was in middle school. I've got emotional problems which i believe lead to my over-eating. I was also put on a medication in my early 20s which caused an enormous amount of weight gain. I gained 50 lbs in 2 years from the Seroquel.

I've never been able to knock that 50lbs back off... plus i had a really stressful year last year and put on about another 15lbs.

I am not only interested in getting this weight off... but also enjoying my life and being fit. My husband enjoys hiking and camping, and i would like to be able to do these things without him modifying the trips to my (in)abilities.

I am glad to meet everyone here!

    Nicole

  • Hi there...
Like several of you did -- I stumbled upon this site while looking at other weight loss things. What a GREAT site!

I am turning 45 this month and want to really do something for myself. I am heading back to Weight Watchers this week. and I know from previous attempts that sharing the pros and cons of weight loss with others making the same journey is the best type of support system.

    Good luck this week!!
  • Lynn, welcome to you, too!
This is such a great site. I came here to lose weight a few years ago (and I did, but put it back on... thank you, depression), and have made some life-long friendships. They make it worth while sticking around... even when the scale isn't moving downwards.

Nicole, I'm glad you're plunging in and posting!

Please don't be put off when not everyone answers your posts. Just keep pushing your way in.
