ready to lock and load!

  • Hello all! My name is Emily (or Emmy Roo, or just Roo). I'm 22 and I have been overweight ever since I hit puberty. I just keep creeping up. I lost 15 pounds my first year of college, but since then I've gained that much again every year, and I'm getting really discouraged. So I've joined up here and started an account at FitDay, and I'm ready to shed some pounds. I couldn't believe it when FitDay told me that I was eating over 3000 calories a day. No wonder I've been gaining weight! But I'm a teacher at a boarding school and I live in the dorm with my students, so it's hard to resist the temptations sometimes.

I hope being here and getting support from like-minded people will help me find the motivation I've always lacked. A month ago I weighed myself for the first time in a year and was horrified to see that I'd passed the 200 pound mark. It's time for a change in my life!
  • emmyroo and good luck!

Be sure to take a look around the site as you will find some of the nicest supportive and most motivational people ever. Looking forward tomore of your post so keep posting
  • Hey Emily, and

FitDay is a real eye opener sometimes, isn't it?

There is no need for you to resist any and all temptations that might come your way. One of the reasons I chose to calorie-count for weight loss was that, if i really wanted something, I could have it...in a small portion, so long as I fit it into my calories for the day. FitDay is a great tool for calorie counting.

Anyway, look around, settle in, and keep posting. you may want to join the "20-somethings" forum chats, or post in the "Calorie Counters" forum...wherever you feel at home, just jump right on in.

Can't wait to get to know you better!
