Hello!

Hi, all, my name is Elizabeth, but I'll usually sign off as 'Lix,' mostly because I'm usually in too big a hurry to proofread my own name.

I'm 27 years old, and I live in Baltimore, MD, with my 21 year old skinny little size four sister and her cats, and occasionally her on again, off again boyfriend who calls me Mom. I kind of like it, actually. I'll be 28 in March.

I've been in a steady relationship with my guy for six years, which is great. We have no immediate plans to get married or even live together, even though I hate living with my sister's cats (they pee on stuff) and he just moved into a new house. I don't have any kids, but I'd like some one day. I do have a lot of siblings - there are seven of us. We're all halves and steps due to divorces, but we don't like to differentiate. That's how we roll. All of my siblings are emphatically NOT fat, except my older sister.

I am currently without pet. I do live with the aforementioned cats and a rabbit, all of whom belong to my sister. I would dearly love a dog, but I am not in a financial position to get one right now.

I like to: read, write, knit, play around on the internets, listen to and/or make music, and I LOVE movies.

I'm 5'5" and weigh 264 lbs - hey, that's down a pound from when I started (um, pretended to start) and down 11 pounds from my highest weight ever, so I'm not mad. I'd like to get down to 165 by the time I hit 30.

I'm horrible at getting to the gym, even though it's right across the street from my office. I also suck at the whole "willpower" thing.

I'm hopping on the South Beach bandwagon - it's worked for my dad, my step-mother and my sister in the past, plus I do better if you tell me what I CAN have, and what I can't, and it's not all nebulous and open for interpretation. Less "justified" cheating that way.

Usually when I get all gung-ho about losing weight and getting healthy, I make all the plans and lists and get really excited and then . . . . don't do anything. THIS time, I'm not making any plans - I was at the store, I saw the book, and I'm going with it. It's all part of finding my inner Zen.

I'd like to find a buddy - someone around my age with a good amount to lose, who is starting around the same time as me for support. Well, not just support for me, I'd be supportive, too. Together, we'd be like a bra. Um, I guess they'd also have to not be offended by my slightly off-kilter sense of humour. It'd be a plus if they'd think I'm funny.

Looking forward to posting!

Hey Lix - welcome to 3FC!! So happy to have you with us! your attitude is so great - always look at the positives. If we get too far gone in the negatives, it is so detrimental to our success. For me, the girls here on 3FC are so vital to my success; they hold me accountable, cheer with me when I lose, and give me a swift kick in the pants when I mess up. They listen when something is bugging me, or spend their time trying to help me find the answers I need. You'll be very happy here, I'm sure!

You could check out the 20 Somethings board, and also the South Beach boards to start, but of course you are welcome anywhere :D

Again, welcome and I look forward to getting to know you more! :carrot:
