Hi!

Well, hi everyone! I guess in a way it might seem strange that I'm here... a little over two years ago I weighed about 200 pounds. I finally got sick of it and decided to lose it. I set my goal to lose 53 pounds. Two years later and I'm down 65 pounds. And don't get me wrong, it's great. Before I started writing this I was reading through some of the blogs on this site, several of them were talking about how hard it is and how it can be demoralizing when you still have so far to go. And the simple answer is it is that hard. It just is. We didn't get to the weights we are/were quickly and for some (cynical) reason it's at least twice (or two thousand times) as hard to lose the weight as it is to put it on. But it is do-able.

So why am I here? A couple of reasons really. Firstly, now that I've met (and passed) my goal it's almost harder. I'm terrified of putting the weight back on and I worry about it constantly. I'm wondering if there's anyone else out there going through the same fears. Worrying about it that much (and the negative behaviors that brings about) is exhausting.

And the second reason is that I'd still, in a way, like to lose another ten pounds. I'm not sure that that's healthy though. I want to lose it because I'd really like to see a certain number on the scale, but according to BMI measures, etc. i don't need to lose it.

Wow, have I shared too much already?!? I've certainly said some things in this post that I haven't said to anyone else really. and that's the thing about weight loss, not only is it hard all by itself but it's also very isolating. I guess I would just like to find, and give, support in this whole journey - both to people trying to lose weight and those trying to maintain that loss.

Well, thanks for reading!

Welcome!

I think that anyone who has lost a ton of weight like you have is worried about getting it back. Like you said, it's a lot harder to lose it than to gain it. So, in that respect, I think you are in good company. =)
