Greetings!
Hello everyone!! My name is Heather (quite obviously :p). I live in the DFW area in Texas. I'm 20 and in all honesty I've become sick and tired of being sick and tired. I work 48 hours a week and 13 hours of school a week. Needless to say my schedule is pretty tight. I've been living off of fast food and vending machine food for the past 6 months and needless to say, it took a HUGE toll on my body. I was already extremely overweight when this all started...I have been all of my life. I want to be healthy, I want to know what it's like to do things with ease versus not being able to even walk to my car without feeling like I've been beat with something.
After a few things that happened on New Years Eve, I've decided it's time to take control. Today is day one!! I'm the most determined I've been about anything. |
Hey Heather, and :wel3fc:
Gosh, that is a crazy schedule! You're going to have to do some major planning to keep your eating on-plan, but the good thing is, you CAN do this! One strategy that might be great for you would be cooking in batches in the free time you do have...so, let's say you have Saturday free, you'd cook several meals in big batches and portion them out individually. That way, when you are running around like crazy the rest of the week, you have healthy, on plan food at hand. Have you visited our "20-somethings" area yet? Check it out! Otherwise, just keep posting. Can't wait to hear more from you soon! |
Thanks!!
I have the next couple of nights off (I work nights...ughh haha) and I plan to fix my week's worth of food and freeze it...that way I can just grab and go. I start school next week so I'm going to have to plan for that. We have a gym here...and we're allotted two thirty minute breaks. We also have a gym downstairs that I plan on using during these breaks. We'll see how things go though :-) |
