Hello!
My name is Dawn, I'm 29 and weigh in at 225, and I'm 5'9" tall. I've been overwieght for the better part of my life, I was a chunky kid, then I slimmed down a little in high school, but gained quite a bit after and have been about the same size ever since, at my heaviest I was 242. My goal weight is 150, that might be a tad unrealistic, but that would put my BMI into the healthy range, which is really what I'm looking for.
I'm a single mother to a son who will be 13 next month and I've recently discovered a new sense of empowerment toward my health. I will graduate with my bachelors degree this month. All totaled it took me about 7 years to get this degree, and now that I have it I kind of feel like there is nothing I can't do, especially not something as important as weight loss! I think I'm finally ready to fight this battle!
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Dawn

i think it's great that you are so determined, and it seems like you have a good plan. hopefully you can get your boyfriend to eat with you sometimes, but you have to eat healthy no matter what people around you are doing! i know from experience. it's frustrating but stick with it. plus, your son will benefit from your healthy lifestyle and learn to be a healthy adult!
