Hello :)

Hi everyone, I'm Dawn.
I live in Michigan (aka the Artic Tundra!) and work full time in sales at a catalog/internet company. I volunteer at a local cat rescue (where I've adopted all 3 of my babies), scrapbook, rubber stamp, and take pictures every chance I get.
Back in the fall I applied for weight loss surgery with my insurance company. They denied it, and told me that first, I need to do a medically supervised weight loss program. So I am on the cusp of starting that. It's basically Medifast, but done at the Doctor's office, with support groups, nutrition counseling, etc. I go in for my first appointment on Wednesday and start the program the following Monday. I think this is the kick start that I need. I'm hoping to relearn 20ish years of bad food choices.
For the record, I'm 5'9 and 330'ish. I haven't had my official WI yet, but will get that info next week.

I just started postin last night. I feel your pain. I need to lose so much weight. It seems overwhelming. Let me know how you are doing. Maybe we can help each other stay motivated.

Hi, I'm Tammy. I worked as an administrative assistant for the board of education. The problem is that I work all day siting on by butt. And to make things worse I work with a group of great southern cooks ( I'm a yankee). Since retiring from the Air Force I have gained 35 pounds. Last year I dropped about 50 pounds, unfortunately I have gained back about 25 pounds. I refuse to put that weight back on!! I am on the WW points system and love it. Today is day number 4 on the program and I hope that this time I can keep it off. I suffer from fibromyalgia and the excess weight is not good for me.

FYI: I am 50 yrs old , 5'3" and weigh 162 lbs

Hi, and :wel3fc: to all the newbies in this thread! I'm so glad you all found us!

Airforcegal - have you visited our "Dieting with Obstacles" area? There are other chickies with Fibromyalgia, and it might be useful for you to share your experiences there.

Lexie - both my furbabies are rescues as well - bless you for volunteering! We have a forum for those on Medifast, so even if it isn't exactly the same, the information there might be good for you...check it out!

Can't wait to see all of you around soon!
