Newbie From Texas

Hello, my name is Jen, I am a stay at home mom and legal studies student at Texas A& M. I live in Texas, obviously, hahah. I am married to Brandon, he is a helicopter pilot and flight instructor, and we have 2 little girls Ashlynn, 6 and Lainey, 3. My husband is the man when it comes to will power he has lost and kept off 20 pounds with south beach living, and totally changed his lifestyle. I did well on it as well, but I gave up at the holidays unlike him.....so I gained EVERYTHING back and then some!!! So, we are starting new only this time the whole families lifestyle is changing, no more diet just new way of life. So far everything is going really well, so we will see. We started on Dec 26th..............wish me luck!!

Hey Jen! :wel3fc:

You have a LOT going for you! Not only do you have a supportive husband on the same plan, you ALSO have a plan you know works for you! That's fantastic!

Have you visited our South Beach forums yet? Lots of ideas and support from others on the same plan. South Beach Diet

Keep posting - can't wait to hear more from you soon!

Happy to lose 01-03-2008 09:42 PM

I'm new to the site. I've been reading postings for about a week but only joined today. I'm on the South Beach diet and have lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks. It feels really good and I'm excited about continuing. I'm not much of a diet person but the dr put me on the diet because my blood sugars were up for the second time. I'd rather choose to not eat things rather than have no choice.
It was tough over the holidays but I'm a picky eater to begin with so I found acceptable things I like and stuck with them.
I look forward to learning more on this site and hopefully encourage others.

I definately agree with your statement that there's no more diets, just a new way of life. If I lose 100 pounds and go back to eating the way I have been this past year, I WILL gain back every ounce of ugly quivering fat...

Take a deep breath and JUMP IN
