another newbie
Hello everybody, My name is Jan and I am so new to this kind of thing. I read about somebody in our local paper who lost a lot of weight doing an on line thing so I thought I would give it a try.
I have been overweight my whole life, but in the last year have gained 55 lbs. I need help and support from people who know how I feel. I am a late night eater and stuff myself. any support would be deeply appreciated. Thanks and good luck to all. Jan |

Online support can be SO helpful, whether you need some motivation, some new recipes, a strategy for handling a tough situation, or just a kick in the pants. 3FC is a great place for all of those things! Do you know what sort of plan you will be following? Look around, find a spot, and settle in. I can't wait to get to know you better! |
Hello, I have also never posted on anything like this before either, but I am looking for ways to stay motivated in my quest for a healthier year. I was going to joing the Biggest Loser online thing but it is not free. While searching for resources on line I came across this and it seems great. I will be starting officially on Mon the 7th.

Hi Jen! Welcome! As for the late-night eating - I feel for you. I, too, am a late-night muncher. I love to have sweets before bed. I've taken to doing one of two things to satisfy this. 1 - I'll have a single piece of biscotti with some herbal tea (orange spice is wonderful). 2 - I'll have a big bowl of fruit (watermelon, orange - something with a lot of water that will fill me up).
I go to bed around midnight, and I have my snack at 9:00 while I watch TV for an hour. That's another trick. Try to cut back on your TV time. I find that I like to snack while watching TV. I only watch an hour of it a day (from 9 to 10 in the evenings). That's when I have my one and only snack. The biscotti with the tea is very filling and you can munch on it for a while, taking little bits and washing it down with tea. |
