introducing myself

My name is Rebecca I am married with three kids. I have had a lifelong goal of being a nurse in the Army, after having my youngest I thought it was just too far out of reach so I began school to become a nurse. I would at least be able to do that part right? Well I am beginning my third year of school and about to start actual nursing classes yeah! The thing is I have a cousin serving in the Army and she managed to spark motivation that I thought long gone. I am now on the road (with the help of a great recruiter) to enlisting and then the army can help pay for college and I will be able to serve my country live my dream. I dont necessarily have a goal weight because I can enlist after I pass the tape test. They tape your neck, the smallest part of your waist and the largest part of your hips (butt)lol. Anyway when I reach the right measurements I can enlist and I am sure basic training will take care of the rest :drill: My husband is very supportive and we have been married almost ten years (may) I dont know what else to say other than I am excited in the last month I have lost 15 lbs. I have been lurking awhile but ashamed to post till I knew I was going to stick with it, lol the whole committment thing.:D :dust: I think this site is awesome!

Welcome and congratulations of your loss so far! It sounds like you've got a great and noble motivation working for you. What are your goal measurements? Generally I think that having measurements be the goal is a much healthier mindset than the number on the scale.

33 for my waist 40 for my hips and hopefully keep my neck at 15 These numbers can be toyed with a little. If I lose off my neck I must lose more off my waist and/or hips. Hip + waist - neck = 58 So thats the formula I need. lol I am at 39.5 waist+ 46.5 hips- 16 neck = 70 So I am edging closer to my goal. I am at a pace now that I am hoping to achieve my goal by March 1st. A month ago my hips were 50.5 and my waist was 41.5. I can't go too fast but I feel comfortable the way I am going. I still take days off from exercising and I have a free day every so often for food that I love and amazingly I havent been bingeing Yeah.
