Unhappy hi all, I'm new

I have decided that I really need to address the elephant in the room; that is my extremely ginormous self. I have an annual check-up in 4 days and having gained 25 lbs in the past year, I can only IMAGINE what my size 6, exercise-loving doctor will have to say. I need to do something. I've looked at several diets and found a great website which actually directed me to 3FC. I have decided on trying South Beach. I did Atkins about 1 1/2 years ago, with decent results. But it appears that I am now out of control with carbs (esp. sugar) and have rebounded and then some. I crave sugar. All the time. Every minute of every day. I take thyroid medicine and antidepressants. My cholesterol and LDL are bad, along with my triglycerides. This is my first foray into a web-based community, so this may be the thing that helps--nothing else has! Also, I'm allergic to exercise!

South Beach is a great plan. Have you been to our Chicks on the Beach forum? The FAQ section has a lot of tips that might help you along. Don't worry about that exercise allergy. Introduce the stimuli slowly, and you'll get immune real fast. It's addictive once you get rolling!

Hi foody,

I share your sweet tooth. Sugar is my biggest weakness and the hardest thing for me to kick. Growing up I'd always hated diet sweeteners but when Splenda came out I was immediately impressed. Do you like it? I know it's not exactly the same but a little here and there helps satisfy my sweet tooth. Some of the products (syrups and soft drinks) that are made with Splenda are especially good for thwarting my cravings.
