Hi from NC!

:dizzy: Hello to everyone from NC! I've just joined 3FC after reading all the success stories and realizing how supportive a community this is. I've battled my weight for 25 years now, and am finally mad enough at myself to take it seriously. But I know I will need help, and so I welcome interaction and conversation with the wonderful people I've seen on here. Best of luck to everyone trying to reach a goal!

Welcome aboard!
I am also a newbie, so we can journey together! Best of luck, and see you around :)

Thanks Lorena!
I can't wait till I get enough posts to be able to put up the little "tape measure" thing!! I've lost 3 pounds but can't post it anywhere yet LOL!

Best of luck to you in your journey - you're making progress, yeaahhh!!

Hi Alis, and Welcome

Anyone can put up a tape measure, as far as I know, as long as you are talking about the weight loss ticker. If you are, you just go under the user CP and go from there.

Yes - I know where Kinston is!! In between two other small but beautiful towns. NC is a great state - I'm 3 hours from the mountains AND the beach, so I love living here. Thanks for the welcome, and good luck in your progress, as well!

Hi there, from another newbie! I just joined tonight after seeing what a wonderfully encouraging community this is. Best of luck in your weight loss journey!

Hi from Michigan

Thanks for reading my post. We are so similar in our weight loss journey. We weigh about the same and have hauled it around with us for just about as long. I really gained all my weight 23 years ago when I was pregnant for that "sometimes annoying" daughter of mine. She is actually great and I love her death. I am also sick of it and want to change. Not like I haven't tried before but this time I am teaming up with a support group to help me. I want to keep in touch with you and hopefuly we can help each other out.

Kudos on the picture in the bathing suit. I haven't even owned one for about 20 years. I hope for that to change.

Hi Mindy - I know what you mean about being "sick of it"!! I have been overweight for 25 years - when I first got to college and found out that you could have pizza delivered!! A little-known fact my parents had kept hidden from me for 18 years - God love them! Anyway, my 30th reunion is coming up in the spring, and although I know special events are NOT supposed to be good motivators, something has to be! I am sick of having to shop in plus-size stores, sick of taking the elevator at school instead of the stairs because I know I'll be panting if I don't, sick of trying to find a flattering hairstyle that won't draw attention to the double(triple?) chins!! :(

For some reason - this time "feels" different - maybe it's because I know that the people here understand and really DO know what you mean when you complain!! Not like the 100-pound trainer at the gym who's never sweated during a 5-minute walk on the treadmill!

Keep up YOUR good fight - I'll be here to encourage you and everyone else who's trying, as well, and looking forward to the NEW us in 2008!

Kim
