New here

But not new to dieting!

I'm 39 years old and trying to get myself back into shape. I got out of shape when I had surgery on my knee in 2003. Before then I was very active. I belong to the SCA - a worldwide medieval group - but I haven't participated much because of my weight. I'm looking forward to getting into shape and start swordfighting again.

Looks like there are A LOT of people here so I'm looking forward to learning from everyone.

You're right, there ARE a lot of people here, and a lot of areas. The good news is, that means almost EVERYONE can find a spot that fits them perfectly. So look around!

I sympathize on the knee issues, but the time has come to get going. Can't wait to see more posts from you soon!

Wow, swordfighting! I've never heard of the SCA, but it sounds fascinating. A real motivator to getting in shape.

I walked a marathon awhile back, but managed to get out of shape since. I needed to lose weight even then, but I was much fitter. I'm anxious to drop the weight so I can participate in more activities. Hopefully this winter I'll get to do some showshoeing.

We can do this!
