Hi everyone,
My name is Victoria. I have been reading through the posts and it seems like a very motivating group of people come here for support. Something I desperately need. My story: Shortly after my husband joined the Army in 2002 we were stationed in Germany and he was shipped off to serve 15 months in Iraq. I turned to food for comfort. I was sad and lonely living overseas without my husband or my family near me. I was constantly worried about his safety and I ate to compensate for what was missing in my life. Eventually, I gained 65 lbs. When it was time for him to return home from Iraq, I lost 72 lbs and I was so proud to let him see my new figure that I had worked so hard for. However, his unit was extended once again and I learned that I would have to be without him for an additional 6 months. I was devastated and again I turned to food. Everything I had worked for went down the drain in a moment. I was so disappointed in myself. It has been 3 years since then and I cannot seem to stick to anything to get this weight off. I do not have any motivation to get my health back on track. I need to do something and SOON. So, I am determined to make a new start. I am going to put all of the bad things behind me and start fresh to begin a new life. Not only do I have a goal of losing over 100 lbs to live a healthy life, but I want to have a baby, so I need to lose the weight and be healthy enough to do this. This is an ultimate goal. So, here's my beginning. I am going to rely on so many of you for help and support, because it is much needed. Your stories are a big inspiration. I know I can do it, and I am taking my first step. Thanks! |
Hi Victoria, I understand your frustration. I turn to food for everything and trying to break the addiction cycle is the pits. My goal too is to lose more weight to get my body ready for IVF in June/July. I am 35 and want to get this weight physically and emotionally under control to try to have a baby. We did invetro when I was in my late 20s. Hang in there and I am always looking for someone to chat with. I joined LA weight loss in August and have lost 35 lbs thus far. Had a HUGE set back with the holidays and am trying to get back on track. Good luck

Hi Victoria, and :wel3fc:
You CAN do this. We are the same height and have the same goal weight, and if I can do it, trust me on this, ANYONE can. Stay here. Keep posting. Make a plan and stick to it. You know what you have to do, so decide, right here and now, that it is time to DO it...you can definitely get it done. Can't wait to hear more from you soon. |
:welcome3: Victoria!
I'm an emotional eater, so I can identify. This forum is one of major things that really helped me in losing weight! There are lots of really inspirational people on 3fc that have great advice. I too lost weight to be healthy for baby making. :D Now we are just waiting for DH to have a more permanent job. You can do this! I have faith in you! Once you find your motivation (sounds like you have) there's no stopping you! I'd suggest when you are having a hard time, come and post. The gals (and guys) on 3fcs are so supportive and we'll help as much as we can! |
Hi Victoria,
I just want to add a welcome to ya too. I can also relate on the eating for comfort. I also used to eat out of boredom!! I found that coming here I don't want to go eat, I just love getting all the rich encouragement and kind words that are spoken here. Just keep reading all these encouraging posts and you can't help but get motivated and stay on track. You have the most wonderful reward waiting for you. What a reward for your lifestyle change!! Good luck on this journey, Take care, God Bless, Tari |
