Smile Hey im news

Hey, I'm Stasia. Currently, I'm 258lbs, 5"9 and 16 years old. Sometimes I'm lost of motivation(kinda like right now) and other times I'm so ready to lose weight. I don't know how to always be ready. My family has a history of obesity and the problems it stretches to be. I don't get enough support from my family that much. At least not the kind I get. Little kids live here so there's always snacks available. Not everyone cares about their health so there's always always ALWAYS unhealthy foods here(just about everything). I'm still looking for a job, so I don't have much money to buy myself healthy foods(not yet). I went to the doctor's a couple of weeks ago. When my mom went back for the blood test, they were so busy they just handed her the report without any explanations of what it means. All my mom can tell is I have hgih cholestrol(I'm not sure what cholestrol is still).
Where do I begin?his is a huge change. I tried manyt times before and I always fail. I know it's normal, but I just feel like I can't do anything. I guess I'm looking for some support and tips. So, if anyone has any to offer, I'll appreciate it.

G,day and jasmine, I know it is hard to stay motivated in a house where nobody else cares about their weight, but if you want it enough you can do it, just tell yourself that you are doing it for you and that you are important enough to succeed, ask your Mum to get some fruit in the house as well as the treats for little kids and when you are hungry grab an apple instead of junk. Losing weight is hard work but it can be done there are alot of different plans here in these forums try and find one that might work for you, exercise is important to, you don,t have to join a gym simple walking is great and it doesn,t cost anything. Also cutting out things like soft drinks and cakes and biscuits can help you can still eat whatever takes your fancy but cut down your portion size, just by cutting down your meals to half of what you would normally eat and you will start to see results. You said that your blood test show,s a high cholestrol reading well it means it is not good for your heart and it is important that you get it down. I,m doing WEIGHT WATCHERS FLEX PLAN you are given a certain amount of points each day that you can eat without cutting out anything as long as you stay in the point range if you go to the Weight Watchers forums here at 3fc you,ll find plenty of imformation advice and help and there is always plenty of support and encouragement anywhere in these forums and with these you will get there. Take care.

JULS

Hi jasmine , I'm kinda new here too. (I was on a looong time ago, but just opened a new account as I am starting over)

I live in a house that is a lot like the one you described. No one in my house really cares about their weight. I'm an only child, but... my mom has several different illnesses that mean she can't lose the considerable amount that she needs to w/o surgery, but they also make her not a really good candidate for that surgery. So, she's kinda stuck. My dad just doesn't care about his weight.

My Grandma helps me a little, we go walking together almost everyday, but she doesn't live here so she can't control what my parents buy at the grocery etc.

I agree with what NEWYEARNEWME said. But, you don't have to follow a particular plan, you can make up your own if you want. I'm following the SparkTeens Plan.

My 2 Cents- Do what you can as you can. Make a more gradual change. If you suddenly start/stop anything your body will rebel. (I speak from experience.) If you gradually start eating less and healthier foods and exercising you'll have less problems with adjusting & you'll feel less deprived. An who knows, you might even make your family healthier in the process?

If you want, we could be buddies and help each other do this. It sounds like we both need some support and accountability. We could IM/E-mail or just PM on here. But, only if you want! No forcing you or hard feelings from me if you don't want to.

If there's anyone else that wants to be buddies, I'd be open to that too...
