Any Advice is welcomed...

Hello all, I am new to this board, but I am hoping that it gives me the extra help I need in losing weight... I am doing weight watchers, flex plan. I need to lose around 88lbs, and can't believe I let myself get this size.... but I am ready to change... I just had a baby girl August 22, and wish I could blame it on her... but can't.... any advise that any of you can offer I would greatlyl appreciate... Thanks and look forward to hearing from you all...

I have tons of advice. I love WW! Use your veggies. I chop up lettuce and veggies fine to make a salad. Fills me up with less bites that way. Veggies are essentially for the most part free food. Fruit is relatively low as well and I use it for snacks often. The big thing is to find maybe 10-12 meals you really love that keep you on plan. That way you won't feel deprived. Search this site for awesome recipes.

:welcome: I'm using the same plan :) And I have to agree with katmeow. Use your vegetables & get your water in! You can do it ^^

Thank you! I started April 19th, 2007.

Yes, in the beginning it was difficult. There's a lot to learn. Not only the system, but what your favorite foods add up to.
For the first three weeks it felt like I took 10 minutes measuring every single food item. BUT IT'S WORTH IT! After a month I became more proficient and knew the points of foods I used on a regular basis.
After 6 months... it's second nature. I don't eat food without counting points first.

Remember good health basics. Load up on veggies & fruits & water. Use dense starches & fatty dressings sparingly. You'll find you can make a HUGE plate of food if you load up on vegetables that you like. Stuff them in anywhere, that's my philosophy. Heck, I even add peas to my macaroni and cheese and call it "mac & peas". 1 cup of mac & cheese... 1 cup of peas... that's two whole cups of food right there, and to me it seems like 2 huge cups of macaroni even though it's got veggies in with it!

So, in the beginning, take your time. Plan your meals ahead of time if possible so that you don't have to sit there and figure out points before sitting down to eat.

You can do it ^^ Just be patient with yourself.

Wow... that is a great idea.... adding veggies to foods... I don't really like veggies, but if I can mask them, I would more likely eat them... I do feel like I am adding everything, and it took me about 15 minutes today to figure out if I ate 2 turkey sausage, and a pack of instant sugarfree oatmeal, what can I have for lunch and dinner. I am glad that it will get easier... your story is so inspirational.... thank you for the great advise...
