Hello & welcome! It is possible to lose 33 pounds in 5 months. The average person loses about 1-2 pounds a week. (5-10 a month-ish) I would say your timeline is reasonable.
I've never been on a diet (and I never will be), but I can tell you that I changed my life by adding in walking & yoga, and keep track of my eating by counting Weight Watchers Flex Points. It's worked for me so far. There are many options out there, so check out some of the forum areas that focus on different life changes. You'll find one that fits your lifestyle.
