:carrot: Hey Guys

I found this site this morning and think its fab. I am desperately looking for friends to talk to about dieting ups and downs, good days and bad etc. All my friends are skinny (sob:?:).

I am 37 and I live in Spain (was born in England) and have done so for 14 years. I have been really overweight since having my son 12 years ago and now it is affecting my health so I know now is the time to do something about it. I have tons of weight to loose, I dont know how much as I dont know how much I weigh as the scales we have at home dont go up as high. God that is so embarrasing but true. Anyways, if any of you guys out there would like to make friends with me I would be delighted.

Hi Kate! There is a lot of support on this site. I'm pretty new too, and along with the forums I created a diet blog on this site as well. It's a great second way to communicate with others, and a great way to get your feelings out, or even plan a menu/your exercise for the day to make the progress easier. I've had the same problem with scales before, so I know how that feels.

I'm in your timezone and it's always nice to meet new people going through similar experiences!

I'm from the US originally, but I live in the Netherlands - I think as "foreigners" we also have different WL challenges than those native to where they live. Even if we are used to where we are (I've been here 13 years) it doesn't mean we are so integrated that we don't long for our home comforts (food) or that society is the same. I don't know what Spain is like, but here in Holland being overweight is STILL not "normal" and therefore we are banished to horrible (and few) clothing shops and people who don't understand how difficult it can be to actually lose weight.

Anyway, if you need a friend on "real" time, I'm here - I'm pinkypie101 on MSN :)

Thanks for replying velveteen. I have been in Spain for nearly 14 years and here it is just the same as where you are, its not "normal" to be overweight. There is only one clothes shop that I know of that does big sized clothes so it is very limited for me to say the least.

I miss my english food like mad, there are so many different healthy choices in the supermarkets in England and here there are only a few.
