Default New but not new to weight

Hi, Im new to the site and found it by finding the 3 fat chicks book in the library. I have been up and down with my weight my whole life. Im 38 now and have recently lost 100 pounds. Unfortunatly i had a family crisis in April, my nephew was killed in a car accident he was 22 and it kind of threw my family into a tailspin. I have regained about 30 pounds and am trying to get back on track. This looks like a great website and im really excited to find it!!! Maybe someone has a suggestion as to what group would be the best choice. Right now im counting calories and it works well. Thanks everyone !!! ttasm in MN

Welcome! Wow, what good work you've already done.

You'll probably enjoy the Calorie Counters here. Nice bunch.

But don't feel confined to one thread. Read lots and post wherever. I'm sure you'll feel very welcome.

Nice to see you here. You have found a wonderful place. So many supportive people. Please check out everyones posts. You will find good advice and many ideas on how to lose weight and keep it off.

Myself, I use a lunch plate instead of a dinner plate. A salid plate instead of a breakfast place. Portions are my big thing and dropping fat out of my diet. I eat with the family when they are having my favorites, making sure I watch portion sizes. When they aren't having my favorites I eat lean cuisines and lean pockets. Working for me. The weight is coming off very slowly but that is because I am not on a diet. I have changed the way I look at, think about and eat food. This is a change in how I live my life, something to last forever not something that will only last until I am the weight I should be again.

No matter what you decide to do to lose that weight again. Everyone here wants to hear from you. Let us know how you are doing, we really are interested.

When you think you are all alone. When there isn't a person in sight to give you encouragement. Remember, God is right there with you. Usually yelling, put down that candy bar.

Hi there! I'm so sorry about your loss, but so glad that you don't want it to take over your life. This is a great forum to read other personal stories and get motivated. I would suggest creating a free diet blog as well. It is a good place to vent, plan your meals and exercise, and writing is great personal therapy. You have already accomplished so much, just make the healthy lifestyle you developed when you first lost into a fun way of life. I'm cheering for you!
