Hello from Colorado!

  • Ok, I have no idea what I am doing and I have never posted anything before, but I'll do my best. I am starting what seems to be a huge task. I would like to lose 35 pounds by the end of the year. My husband and I have mutually gained weight since getting married 5 years ago. We both decided it was time to do something about the weight. He has lost 20 pounds in no time, and here I am struggling. So I thought this might help. I welcome any and all advice and encouragement. Thanks!
  • Hello fellow Coloradoan!

Don't compare yourself to your hubby: men have testosterone on their side. It's amazing how they can lose a lot more weight than we can, but they don't have the hormone fluctuations, so don't fret over that!

I've read an article where a man and a woman were put on the same diet and exercise program, were the same age and height, and of the same health. After a month, the man lost 10 lbs and the woman: ZERO! I'm sure there are different articles out there now, but I always have to remember not to compare myself to anyone.

Take care and I wish you well on your new healthy journey!
  • Thanks! I think this is such a cool idea and
I am really excited to start.
