Newbie from Iowa

Hello from North Iowa. I am new to the forum and will be a new member w/ww starting Wednesday. I travel for my job and have made a very bad habit of drive-thru breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner too. (okay I am addicted) I prefer fast food to most resturants. I know that I will never make it cold turkey. I would welcome any hints for snacks/meals while traveling. I am a picky eater....prefer anything considered junk food. I know- I need to change these habits, I also know that if I think that tomorrow I can change and stick with it- I will not make it long. Any hints, snack ideas, packable lunch ideas would be sooooooo helpful.
thanks Mary

Hey! :wel3fc:

We have a whole area of the Forums devoted to WW--you should find lots of information and help there!

Yeah, that fast food thing has probably got to change... but as you learn more and eat differently, you'll find you don't want it as much. (Sounds impossible, but it happens! :D)

Good luck!

Jay

Hi Mary from Iowa!

I'm new too. About the fast food ...

In our younger years, my sis and I were fast food addicts, too...we LOVED Taco Bell, McDonald's, you name it! We used to joke that there was an addictive chemical in fast food ;)

I gave up most fast food over the years, but see on TV that now you can get healthy salads and healthier choices ... but you still gotta say NO to the soda and fries, and high cal mayo, etc.

I'm also ISO healthier snack ideas to replace chips & donuts.

Good luck, and I hope to see you around on 3FatChicks :-).

Welcome Mary! Eating well takes a lot of preparation and commitment, but it will make your body feel so much better! Are you able to pack yourself some fruit or cut up veggies for snacks? What about hitting a grocery store and picking up a yogurt and piece of fruit instead of driving through the fast food joints? Nuts make a great snack - get some of those snack-sized bags and put 15 nuts in each of them and you can grab them easily in the morning.

Hope that helps!

Kara
