Newbie Here On Diet Week 4

A friend of mine sent me this link awhile ago. I browsed around a bit, but didn't join. Today I decided it was time to join. I'm starting Week 4 of my diet and exercise plan. Nothing by the book, just doing what works for me. I have 44 more pounds to lose, and I hope to achieve that by mid-May next year.

I'm a happily married, stay-at-home mother of 3. I'm struggling with my weight, because I never really lost the pregnancy weight of Baby #3. I struggled off and on with post-partum depression, and I had a hard time dealing with the fact that my baby girl was diagnosed with PKU (a rare genetic disorder, where she can't properly digest protein). So here I am, almost 18 months after she was born, starting to lose some of that weight finally!

Currently, I do at least 20-25 minutes on an elliptical trainer daily. Some days I take a walk in the evenings as well. M-W-F, I do some strength training exercises, but I really don't have much of a game plan there.

When time permits, I enjoy digital scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with my family

Hello and welcome! Sorry to be a bit slow about checking in to say hi! Hope you are able to find lots of threads here where you can find encouragement and support!

Hi and Welcome!

Diet and exercise with depression, whatever the root, is SO HARD...take it from someone who has been there. But here is the light at the end of the tunnel - as hard as exercising is, it helps make you feel better, stronger, and happier, so keep that up!

My best thoughts for your daughter. PKU is scary, but since you know she has it, you can modify her diet to reduce future problems.

Keep posting! Best of luck to you!

Amanda
