Hi everyone!

My name is Emma and i'm 22 and come from sweden. (so i apologise in advance if my english sounds a bit strange sometimes;)) I have been overweight my whole life, (or at least i've always felt fat but when i look at photos from when I was little I can see that my problems didn't start until I was 12-13) and decided that it was time to do something about it.

Like I mentioned I have always felt overweight, my earliest memories was from when I was 5 maybe 6 years and it has been a struggle ever since. In January I decided to seek help and for the past 5 months I've been seeing a dietist. But not anymore as it is too expensive (I'm a student). Beeing at uni have made it easier for me to take control over what i'm eating. During my talks with the dietist i noticed that (as it often is) that i wasn't eating cause i was hungry. My mother has had a large influence over it, (might add that we don't have such a good contact) but I'm old enough now to take responsible for my own actions. (and the latest time i gained weight, 20kg was when I was at uni. with other words, my mother wasn't there.) I can't blame others anymore.

I didn't mean to write such a long introduction....:o
anyway, to make a long story short, the eating habits that I'm taking with me from home sucks, and I am ny trying to learn how to eat the right way. lose weight and also to have a healthy relationship to food.

Hello Bhavna and :welcome: Great having you here and thanks for the introduction. I am waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay on "the other side of the water" from you!!

I agree that learning to eat right (along with exercise) is the "key" to good health. Hope you find a plan that works for you and stick with it! And look around the forum to find groups that "fit" and become involved. There is lots of support and encouragement here.
