Hi I'm New

Hi everyone:

I'm new here. I belong to a couple of other sites but I'm just not finding the motivation I need. I'm hoping by starting fresh with this site I can begin again and reach my goal eventually! I have to make some serious changes in my life and if I don't do it now I fear I never will.

I hope to make lots of new friends here! I've heard wonderful things about the site!

Hi, Char! Welcome! :)

We have very close start and goal weights. I'm shooting for 140 (the lowest I remember in adulthood is 139) but, hey, if I hit a few pounds lower, I won't complain. :D For now I'm happy to see each pound come off along the way so I just concentrate on the immediate few pounds at a time. :p

So, any thoughts to how you're going to approach it? My way has just been eating less, moving more. Moderation in food (too much of it before), moderation in exercise (not enough of it before). Been doing it since January. So far, so good! ;)

You can do it. If there's any piece of advice I can give at this point about those changes you mentioned, it would be that it's okay to start small or make a few changes now and more later. Try not to overwhelm yourself with the idea that you have to make big sweeping changes tomorrow. Adapting takes time. :) Whatever you decide on, look upon it as something to live with more often than not. ;)

Hey there Char,
Welcome to 3fc you are going to LOVE it here. You'll find so much support and inspiration I promise! I noticed that we have quite similar start and goal weights. I'm on WW but unable to move more to try and shift the weight because I'm revising which means.... stuck in doors doing work. bleurgh. Anyways I wish you the best of luck and remember three things - Commitment, perseverence and PATIENCE.

Thank you!

Hi Ladies:

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really am hoping that this is the place I will finally find the inspiration I need to really do it this time. :^:

trekkiegirl - as far as an approach to doing it, I change my mind about how I should do it everyday. I start, I stop, I start, I stop! I'm very frustrated but not giving up hope.

seranab - Commitment, perseverence and PATIENCE! Words to live by. Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support.
