32 Mom wants to go to Law School needs to lose 59 pounds

  • Hi everyone!
My name is Mia and I am 32 years old. I am from PA and I just Graduated from College on May 13th with a degree in Social Work. I stayed at home to watch my sons who are 11 and 12 so it took around 15 years to complete. I stopped smoking before I went back in 2003 and I went from 125 to 175 which is what my weight was when I was pregnantI have been with my Husband since I was 16 years old and I love him so much! My dream is to go to Law School and go into Family Law for the poor and oppressed. Mainly children. I want to open a Law Office and have my Saint Bernard Mulligan as a Therapy dog hanging out with clients. I am having a really hard time getting a good LSAT Grade, maybe because of the stress I am under, maybe due to my lack of confidence. I started the 3 day diet with my Husband today becuase I heard rave reviews about it at my party. 41 pounds in 3 months? I would love a penpal to correspond with about progress!
    Sincerely yours.
    Mia

  • The 3 day diet is a fad diet and probably will not give long lasting results.Have you thought about counting calories?
  • welcome!

    congrats on graduating
  • OH! That would not work for me at all because all I eat from those lists is the fruits and veggies!

  • My Husband is a Warcraft Online addict!LOL
  • When you tried it, did it work? I tried SB last year and lost 12 pounds in a week and a half

omg mine is too..he is playing right now. I used to be, got my charcter to lvl 70 and its like "ok now what do I do lol". Anyways, Im so glad im not addicted to that game anymore, I think that is why I gained all this weight b/c I used to play ALL THE TIME and I would eat like a box of cheetos in one night while I was playing...it was awful! God I am so glad im not like that now lol.

I still play but only when I have the time!
  • Good luck!!
  • My husband is kokusho and he is in Shandris
  • ugh I used to be really addicted too... which is one of the main reasons I gained a lot of weight >.> It's easy to sit home and eat and play it all day :-P I still play occasionally, but I'm pretty bored of it.
  • haha I play World of Warcraft...a fun game in moderation. I do my best not to snack while I'm playing though
  • Hi Mia,

My dream is to go to law school, too, so this thread caught my eye! Have you written the LSAT yet or are you still doing practice exams? I wrote the LSAT in September - it isn't fun, but I think with enough preparation, it's manageable. Is there a certain section of the test that you find yourself struggling with?

Like you, I feel like losing weight will help boost my confidence. At this point, I'm starting to doubt that I'll receive offers to either of the law schools I applied to (today I was waitlisted at my top choice). But, regardless of whether or not I get in, I'm determined to look and feel better by September!

Good luck with your goals - conquering the LSAT/law school and the weight loss! Please let us know how the 3 day diet goes for you!
