Hola!

  • I was just browsing through google for some before and after sucess stories and i found quite a few good inspirations here. so i thought that i would make an account and get some support and motivation.

    I am fairly young, and i'm not terribly overweight, but i'm at a very high risk and i have terrible eating habits. a lot of that is mainly because i work at a fast food place, and because a lot of the time i have to grab food and go, and plus.. i wouldn't consider myself a good cook or anything at this point in time.

    I'm currently a junior in high school, but the school year is coming to and end this month, so i won't be for much longer.
    I've been trying to lose weight since i was a freshman, but i've found that i've only been able to gain weight. a lot of that is from the lack of motivation.
    But my eating haibts have increased my acid reflux disease, and because of that i tend to get acute anxiety attacks if i exercise too hard.
    I have a hard time running the mile in P.E class, and even sometimes i have a hard time running half of a mile. this also interferes with my involvement in Marching band and Show choir, because those are the two hardest workout activities i'll probably ever experience in my life.
    I've been wanting to lose weight, but i never have the motivation. I don't want to be paper thin, because my boyfriend of almost two years is a "meaty girl" kind of man. and I personally like a little meat on women too... i've learned to embrace curves.
    However, i'm getting more heavy the more comfortable i am about my weight, and of course i'm getting uncomfortable with my weight again.
    I'm at 178 right now.. I'd like to get down to 160 by the end of the summer, for my senior pictures, and i'd like to get down to 150-145 sometime after that. And then hopefully i'll be able to maintain that weight..

    but anyway.. I just thought that the extra support would do me a lot of good.

    all the success stories i've seen here already are quite in inspiration.

  • Welcome to the forums!! It's great to see a teen who's interested in learning healthy eating rather than just losing weight to be skinny. Check out some of the recipe threads - there's some great ideas for easy to prepare meals that you could take to school for lunch and snacks you could pack for work. Good luck with your weight loss goals

    Wow, I can remember when I was a junior because it was just two years ago. Now I am a junior in college and let me tell you it doesnt get any easier. I can also remember when I was close to your weight now. I am 5'9" so 180 was a normal thing for me. No I am like a cow and eat everything in sight"lol". It is the stress from school.     I hope you find what you are looking for @ this site. I my self was on this site almost more then what I was on myspace for awhile and lost like 20lbs. But then I went back to my old way and gained it all back!! Well , I only have two more years of college left and I want to look as good as I did as when I went to my senior prom!! Well, i know I am going to need help so if any of you guys are interested let me know!!
