Hi I'm a newbie too!

  • Hi, I'm Kasi, 24 and I live in WI. I have 2 daughters, one who is almost 3 and one who just turned 4.

I have tried every diet that is reasonable for me. I did Slimfast, Special K, just counted calories, counted carbs, reduced my sugars, took OTC diet pills, tried diet drinks, ate less calories, ate more calories, ate 6 times a day, ate 3 times a day, stopped drinking soda, quit smoking and nothing seemed to work except of course the Hollywood diet, which was horrendous. But hey I lost 8lbs and have kept it off for almost 10 weeks.

I recently got a referral from my PCP to see a nutritionist. When I saw her 3 weeks ago I had printed out a 3 day food diary from my fitday for her. She said it looked good and the 1700 calories I'm eating are perfect if I'd like to maintian my current weight, but since that is not what I want to do she cut me back to 1600 and then next week when I see her again I will go down to 1450 and gradually work my way down, so my body doesn't freak out and go into starvation mode. However, in 3 weeks time I have not lost even 1 pound and I am very frustrated.

I'm an obsessive scale person, I weigh myself every morning with out fail.

Uhh I guess that's all for now.
  • lol welcome!!

I know exactly what you mean... I'm an obsessive scale person as well. I weigh myself in the morning without fail...AND maybe 5/6 times a day. Before I eat and after I eat. With my shoes on... with my shoes off... with a jumper on... with a jumper off. I'm crazy lol... I just like to see how different things affect the scales.
Anyways... backing away from my craziness. Welcome to 3FC you will LOVE it here.
  • Hey!

The one thing I'd say is, just be patient. It's hard, but weight loss doesn't happen all of a sudden, and slow and steady is the better path. I'm glad to hear you are seeing a nutritionist! That plan sounds good to me.

As for the weighing--well, I weigh every time I go to the gym, which is almost every day. It would be better for me to weigh less often, though--because otherwise it really does seem like it takes for. ever.

    Hang in there! Good luck!
    Jay
  • hey there and welcome

i too, have a scale problem .... i weigh myself several times a day .... definitely in the morning and when i go to bed
  • Hey. It's been 3 weeks into my diet, 1 week into my exercise plan, and I was frustrated because I haven't seen results. Usually it takes a few weeks and then you lose the weight.

    Welcome.
  • Hi Kasi! Weight loss can be so frustrating because you work and you work and you still might not see results for weeks at a time. Hang in there though! Over time, you'll start to see changes, not just in your weight but also in your overall health. Just stick with it
