Starting all over...
Hi all my name is jewel and I've gained a ton of weight in the last few years. I went on a diet/excercise program last summer and lost 35 pounds but somehow gradually gained most of it back. Well I'm tired of the weight and feelings associated with it so here I am again. I decided to join here as a way of expressing the frustration and meeting goals as I'm sure my family and friends are sick and tired of listening to me talk about dieting and losing weight!! I am 36 and have 3 kids ages 17, 15, and 7. They are alot of my inspiration. This is actually the 8th day so I'm doing ok so far. I'll be on every day so if anyone else is just starting out let me know!

I too am restarting my commitment to lose weight. Over the holidays I gained at least 10-15lbs. And even before then I was far from where I wanted to be. I am 33 and have 2 kids (5 and 2) and live in MN so I know how hard it is with cold weather to get motivated and get much excersize. This is a great site! A great place to go for inspiration is the support forum and the before and after pics. forum. I am counting calories (well, trying) and trying to get up every morning and walk at least 1.5 miles. I hope you get as much out of this site as many others have! |

Great job both of you! I have started and stopped many times, too! We had a "Biggest Loser" competition at my job, and even though I went up and down, I am still down 7 pounds, and my team won...each of us (4 people on my team) got $23.50! I need to step it up a bit. I would like to feel better about being in a pair of shorts and swimsuit! What are your goals? That is great when you have outside motivation, like your kids, Jewel! It is also great to know that you are worth taking care of! It is amazing to me how many times I have taken care of everyone else (laundry, dinner, cleaning, shopping, other kid-related stuff, just add to the list!), then I am so dog tired that I don't have the energy to work out, or make myself a healthy lunch to take to work...then I feel "gross" and my clothes get tighter or don't fit at all.
