New and in need of motivation....

Hi, all.... I've been to this site just to browse a few times, but I finally decided to join as a poster. I'm a senior in nursing school (graduation = May 25!!) who has - up until about 1.5 months ago - developed some very healthy habits. However, I've kinda stalled. I lost about 15 lbs or so last year, and have gained ~5 lbs back (depends on the time of the month). I am now at 160lbs and really just want to get to 150. Unfortunately, I have zero motivation. School is keeping me busy as have interviews and such. My husband also takes up a lot of time, and I just feel drained. Consequently, my sleep has been interrupted and I have no energy to get up early to run like I used to. I just don't care. I can barely drag myself out of bed to get to school. And watching what I eat? There are days that I eat next to nothing and days I'm constantly starving. I know this isn't healthy, but I don't know how to fix it. Any ideas out there?

One step at a time is what springs to mind. If you feel like the whole package is too overwhelming then start with the food. I always find that if I'm eating right the exercise kind of follows naturally.

Keep reading here as well. It finally rubs off on you and I find that I feel like I can't join in properly if I'm not doing it myself.

Hey kharahlyn, :welcome:

I hope you'll keep visiting. I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed by everything you have to do. But take some hope--lots of folks here have been in this position and managed to work something out. Doughnut has a good idea--take it a little bit at a time. For example, you're not taking time to eat and then you end up starving. So, one thing you could do is make sure you have a supply of healthy snacks that you can carry with you and eat when you suddenly realize--my gosh, I didn't eat! There are lots of such things available these days, and they save my life when I'm busy.

Jay
