Default Hello from the Buckeye State

I'm not good with the introductions but here goes.

Hi My name is Linda. I have a 7 yr.old daughter named Rebecca. We own, no wait they own us ( LOL ), 1 dog named Lucky, 4 cats their names are Tigress, Tiger Bob, Spots, and Buckeye. We have two snakes ( red tail boa & ball python ) and 3 Russian tortious.

I have been fat ( God I hate that word ) all my life ( 41 yrs ) . When I got pregnant for my daughter I weighed 300 lbs. and only gained 30 lbs. while pregnant ( not bad according to my doctor back then ). I left my abusive boyfriend when she was only 20 months old ( long story and I don't want to relive it ). Before I left I weighted in at around 385 ( I left him in Dec.2000 ), but I gained all that weight while with him ( tried to eat my problems away ). Two years ago I found out I'm now diabetic. I'm down to 319 lbs. I've lost a whopping 66 lbs and have a long way to go.

I hope to get a lot of help from here to keep me on track. It's hard to stay motovated when everyone here likes to eat junk food ( my daughter is thank god not over weight ). I have a lot of health problems and two weeks ago thought I'd had a stroke ( left side of my face felt so heavy and had troubles trying to open my left eye while keeping the right one closed ) but as it turned out I didn't, I have Bell's Palsy. I'm on the road to recovery from it my doctor said I should have a 100% recovery ( caught it in time ) but that there is the slim chance that I may have some perment damage but will cross that road if it comes ( I'm praying for no perment damage). I have a loving boyfriend who thinks the world of my daughter ( we live together ) and tries to help me stay focused but he has his junk food weakness. Hope to be down to at least 260 lbs. by the end of the year.

Hello and welcome! It sounds like you're already going in the right direction. Congratulations on the 60+ pound loss you've already achieved! That is wonderful. I'm sorry for the health problems you are facing. I know they can be very scary (I had a mini-stroke early this year). I hope you look around the boards and continue to post. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience here. Everyone is very helpful and supportive. Good luck.

Be sure to check out the 300+ forum here--lots of good stories, lots of understanding people.

Good for you for losing those pounds! And good luck at losing more! You'll recover just fine from the Bell's palsy, have no worries.

Glad to see you!
