Default Restarter needs a home!

Hi everyone - I was a regular poster in the OA forum a couple of years ago, but things have gotten worse since then. I'm at my highest weight, and I need to get my motivation together. Right now, it's just desperation.

I'm Tracy, a SAHM of two in South Carolina. I'm one of those who does great through lunchtime, and then all **** breaks loose in the evenings. I've gained 30 lbs in the past year alone.

Looking forward to meeting others in a similar boat!

Default Grab a paddle - we're in the same boat.

Hi there. I too am restarting yet again. A little more serious and focused this time. I am also a SAHM but I am attending school - working towards my elementary ed certification (was in IT before for about 10 years). My kids are a bit older so I wanted to get back in the game again but still be an anchor at home.

I have the same problem - a dietary angel until 4:00 when I get a severe case of the munchies and eat until dinner. Then I am not hungry at breakfast, eat lighter thru the day, thus starting the cycle all over again.

I know this is stemming from not eating enough during the day. So my focus has been smaller snacks throughout the day. However, when I start working, I may have to alter my eating/water habbits as I may not have a lot of bathroom breaks

I've tried many diets but I am focused on some better eating habits my whole family can follow. I have Dr. Oz's book which seems okay but I am thinking about picking up Bob Greene's - seems more doable. I did have success with Weight Watchers (lost 25 over 8 months) but it was too hard to maintain long term (I did not see food but substitutes for lower points).

I've increased my exercise - worked with someone I met at school on a weight training program plus picked up Leslie Sansone's DVD with a 4 mile walk on it (we have lots of snow right now so it is hard to get out).

Welcome! Hope its warming where you are!

Sue
