Just Getting Started Again

Well here I go for what I hope will be the most successful weightloss journey yet. I've lost 100lbs. before and gained back 50lb. I feel like I have lots of motivation and should be able to do this because once I get started I have lots of will power. The problem is I can't get started. I always say oh tommorow I'll get back on track.. 50lbs later it looks like thats not working. I have great reasons why I should do this but something is stopping me. Any suggestions? I realy need to do this. But I just close my eyes and start eating.

Great job today for logging in

Great job that you got started again. I am right here in the same lake you're in, just another boat. I was 200 a couple years ago and now I am 47 pounds up. I joined L. A. weightloss and lost 25, but gained most of that back. I think we both are in a good place to vent and be honest about our jouney to eating healthy for life. It sounds like you can really succeed. I would love some of your tips on your lose. To have lost 100 is amazing. You will get there again, I'm sure. This time, it will only take you half the time because you have caught yourself. Be proud of that. Keep in touch, Michele

Hello, ladies. Glad to see you here, MaDukes! :wel3fc:

I have found that it's helpful to change the way I think about losing weight and keeping it off. In the past, I would diet until I got to my goal, and then once I reached the goal, I would stop thinking about how I was eating and go back to my "normal" habits. I don't have to tell you what happened next.

I've realized that for me to lose and keep the weight off, my life with food is never going to be "normal" again--I can't go back to the old way that I was eating and expect to get different results. What that means is that I'll always have to pay attention to what I'm eating.

MaDukes, it's always easier to start tomorrow. So, start today! Right now! Even if it's the middle of the day! You can always make choices to eat better foods and to get some activity into your day--even just a short walk.

Good luck to you! Check out the other forums and you'll read some really remarkable stories.

Hey there MaDukes:

I feel like you, just getting started again. I cannot claim to have lost 100 pounds or more but I am sure that over the years I have lost and gained several people. I am back at it again and it does give me inspiration to see that I am not alone. Though there are many days I feel like I am the only one who has ever had to deal with gaining and losing weight.

It has been a challenge for me to stick to my "diet" actually I am not even calling it a diet, I am making changes, hopefully changes that are good and will show on the scales. I check this site every day and read some of the forums and I dont feel so alone.

I am making a conscious effort to make good choices and It does help to know I am not alone. I will be weighing in once a week and hopefully we will all see a gradual decrease in the numbers.

Good luck MaDukes.....
